Łukasz Szydłowski PhD

Lukasz research career started at University of Edinburgh with a BSc in Biotechnology followed by a PhD in Biotechnology at Cambridge, UK. Then, he worked at Wageningen University (Netherlands) and Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (Japan). He is experienced in clean power generation with simultaneous waste treatment using microbial fuel cell (MFC) technology. He was involved in designing and building reactors for bioelectrochemical studies, comparative genomics and transcriptomics of electrogenic consortia. He was also mining microbiomes for the new species, as well as genetic engineering isolated strains using CRISPR. He has a strong interest in studying metabolic interactions within microbiomes.
